Golden Triangle Overview

Draw a line connecting the three of the most popular destinations in Nepal, you’ll find yourself making a triangle, thus the name Golden Triangle. The Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, and Chitwan have been major draws for tourists visiting Nepal for centuries.

The Kathmandu Valley's cultural and historical sites, such as the Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and the Durbar Squares, provide a glimpse into Nepal's rich cultural heritage. Pokhara, with its stunning natural scenery and opportunities for trekking and adventure sports, appeals to outdoor enthusiasts. Chitwan National Park, on the other hand, offers a unique wildlife experience, with jungle safaris, elephant rides, and opportunities to learn about the local Tharu culture. This combination of attractions has made it a popular tourist circuit, attracting visitors from around the globe.

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative who will assist with your transfer to the hotel. The remainder of the day's activities will be tailored to your arrival time. If you reach Kathmandu by midday or late afternoon, optional activities can be arranged to enhance your experience and make the most of your time in the city.

Days 2: Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Today we'll explore Kathmandu's UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We'll start at Kathmandu Durbar Square, former royal palace of the Malla kings. Then, we’ll head up to Swayambhunath (the Monkey Temple) for some amazing views and blessings. After lunch, we'll visit Pashupatinath Temple by the Bagmati River, an important Hindu site. Our day ends at Boudhanath Stupa, where the iconic Buddha eyes watches over the city. Each site tells its own story of Nepal's rich heritage, and we'll get to experience them all in one memorable day!

Days 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara (822m) - 25 mins

Ready for Pokhara? After breakfast in Kathmandu, we'll hop on a quick flight to Pokhara. Our day starts with a boat ride across Phewa Lake, followed by a short hike to the World Peace Pagoda. The views of the Machhapuchhre and Phewa lake from up there are worth the steps! Coming down, we'll drive to David's Fall to see this beautiful waterfall, then we’ll pop into the nearby Gupteshwor Cave, where Lord Shiva is worshiped. Finally, we'll head to our hotel in Sarangkot. It's a great spot to relax and maybe catch a mountain sunset if we're lucky!

Days 4: Full Day Pokhara Sightseeing

A start of a tough day for night owls. We rise early to witness the glorious sunrise from Sarangkot. After breakfast, we'll head to Bindabasini Temple, the oldest in Pokhara and is devoted to the goddess Bindhyabasini, then check out Seti Gorge where the river runs white through the city's heart. Next door is the Gurkha Museum, where you'll learn about Nepal's famous soldiers. Then we're off to explore two caves: Mahendra Cave with its limestone formations, and the Bat Cave - yes, it's exactly what it sounds like! Watch your head in there - our flying friends like to hang out overhead.

Days 5: Fly from Pokhara to Chitwan (135m) - 20 mins

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before heading to the airport for our flight to Chitwan. Due to Chitwan's hot and humid climate, the day will be dedicated to relaxing in the comfort of your hotel. Later in the evening, we will drive to the Narayani River to witness the breathtaking sunset along the horizon. After spending some time by the riverbank, we will return to the hotel. Experience a captivating Tharu cultural program organized at the hotel, offering a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the local ethnic culture of Chitwan.

Days 6: Half Day Chitwan Sightseeing, then fly to Kathmandu (1,400m) - 25 mins

Chitwan, a mystical land that seems to be one of nature's favorites, is a protected area that serves as a habitat for several endangered species including the Bengal Tiger, One-Horned Rhinoceros, Asiatic Elephant, Great Hornbill, Gharials, and numerous aquatic species. The lush wetlands of Chitwan attract many migratory birds during the winter months.

The jungle safari within the confines of Chitwan National Park grants you an opportunity to get a glimpse of these majestic creatures. Choose from activities like jungle walks, Elephant rides, or relaxing in a jeep to enjoy the park's natural beauty. Other activities include bird watching, canyoning in the Rapti River, and visiting the Elephant breeding center.

After a day full of wild encounters, we leave Chitwan to take a flight to Kathmandu as our day comes to an end.

Days 7: Whole day sightseeing of the ancient city, Bhaktapur

Shortly after having a filling breakfast at the hotel, our tour to the ancient city of Bhaktapur commences. A city which has welcomed modernization with keeping its history intact, Bhaktapur’s streets look like it was stuck in the loop of time. We will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Bhaktapur, the Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Changu Narayan Temple, which is the oldest temple of Nepal. We'll indulge in tasting the authentic King Curd, Juju Dhau, and explore some pottery works nearby the durbar square. A day filled with rich immersion with the evergreen culture of Bhaktapur concludes as we make our way back to the bustling city of Kathmandu for the night.
