Annapurna Base Camp Trek - 12 Days

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a well-known adventurous trek, famous for its diverse landscapes, adverse climatic conditions, and culturally enriching villages. The Annapurna Himalayan Range represents the central core of the great Himalayan arc and is among the world's most sought-after trekking routes. 

Trekking in the Annapurna region places you in the heart of the majestic Himalayas. It rewards you with the sight of snowy mountain peaks, shimmering rivers, bright blue skies above the stunning terraced fields, attractive woodlands blossoming with fiery red rhododendrons, and century-old medieval monasteries and villages. This region is a melting pot of natural and cultural diversity, with a strong cohesive bond of natural beauties ranging from huge landscapes teeming with orchids and other floral beauty to pilgrimage sites and indigenous dwellings, and the lifestyle is spell-bounding.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek captivates trekkers from all over the world, located at a height of 4,130 meters (13,550 feet), is home to Mount Annapurna, the world's 10th highest mountain at 8,091 meters (26,545 feet). This route promises an amazing experience, enticing trekkers to undertake this legendary Himalayan expedition.

Itinerary

Days 1: Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu (1,400m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu (1,400m) on Day 1, our representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel while providing a brief explanation of the program. Depending on your arrival time, some activities can be arranged.

Days 2: Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara (822m) - 25 minutes. Drive to Naya Pul (1,070m) - 90 minutes, and trek to Tikhedhunga (1,480m) - 2 to 3 hours

On Day 2, we take a short flight to Pokhara (822m), followed by a 90-minute drive to Naya Pul (1,070m), where we begin our trek to Tikhedhunga (1,480m), a journey of two to three hours. We spend the night in Tikhedhunga.

Days 3: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,874m) - 5 to 6 hours

On Day 3, we trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,874m), a five-to-six-hour journey that begins with a steep ascent up the 3,767-step stone staircase to Ulleri. After a brief rest, we continue through a beautiful rhododendron forest, passing refreshing springs and rivers before reaching Ghorepani, a scenic village offering stunning views of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, and Nilgiri.

Days 4: Early morning excursion hike to Poon Hill (3,210m) - 2 hours, then trek to Tadapani (2,610m) - 5 to 6 hours

Early on Day 4, we hike to Poon Hill (3,210m) to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Himalayas, capturing views of 32 different peaks. After spending an hour or two at the viewpoint, we trek to Tadapani (2,610m) through Banthanti, passing picturesque pine and rhododendron forests.

Days 5: Trek from Tadapani to Chomrong (2,150m) - 5 to 6 hours

On Day 5, the trek continues from Tadapani to Chomrong (2,150m), descending through dense rhododendron forests until we reach Gurjung, a Gurung village. We then continue towards Chomrong, passing through scenic landscapes and encountering Ghandruk Village before descending to the Modi River. Throughout the journey, we admire stunning views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre.

Days 6: Trek from Chomrong to Himalaya (2,940m) - 6 to 7 hours

On Day 6, we descend to the Chomrong Khola and ascend towards Khuldighar, a former Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) checkpoint. The trail then passes through bamboo and rhododendron forests before reaching Himalaya (2,940m), where we spend the night.

Days 7: Trek from Himalaya Hotel to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m) - 5 to 6 hours

On Day 7, we leave Himalaya Hotel and trek towards Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m), passing through Deurali, a small Himalayan settlement surrounded by cliffs and greenery. Upon reaching Machhapuchhre Base Camp, we are greeted with panoramic views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and its surrounding peaks.

Days 8: Trek from Machhapuchhre Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) then return back to Himalaya Hotel - 6 to 7 hours

On Day 8, we begin an early morning trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) to witness the sunrise over Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, and Singu Chuli. After taking in the scenery, we retrace our steps to the Himalaya Hotel for a well-deserved rest.

Days 9: Trek from Himalaya Hotel to Sinuwa (2,145m) - 5 to 6 hours.

On Day 9, the trek continues towards Sinuwa (2,145m), passing through scenic landscapes and refreshing mountain air.

Days 10: Trek from Sinuwa to Syauli Bazaar (1,170m) via Jhinu Danda (1,780m) - 3 to 4 hours. Then drive to Pokhara (822m) - 2 hours

On Day 10, we make our way to Syauli Bazaar (1,170m) via Jhinu Danda (1,780m), where we take a break at the natural hot springs before trekking onward. After lunch, we complete our trek at Syauli Bazaar and drive for two hours to Pokhara, where we stay overnight.

Days 11: Flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,400m)

On Day 11, we transfer to Pokhara Airport for our flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, we return to the hotel, where the remainder of the day is free to either rest or explore nearby attractions. Our journey concludes with an overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Days 12: Final Departure

The grand finale of our adventure in the Annapurna region has arrived! Today marks the conclusion of our remarkable 12-day trek to Annapurna Base Camp. Our airport representative will accompany you to the International Airport, ensuring a smooth departure for your journey back home.

  • TIMS - Trekkers’ Information Management System (Please avail us with 2 passport size photos required for your permit).
  • Filtered water during included meals.
  • Wages, accommodation, meals, gear, insurance, and medications for all staff.
  • 1 duffle or kit bag, trekking map and a trip completion certificate.
  • A farewell dinner on the last night in Nepal.


Exclusion
  • Lunch and Dinner in Kathmandu.
  • International flight fare and Airport Departure Tax.
  • Nepal Entry Visa (Visa can be obtained easily upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, with a fee of (USD 30 for a 15-day visa, USD 50 for a 30-day visa and USD 125 for a 90-day visa).
  • Travel insurance.
  • Any further expenses that are not included in the "Include" section.
  • Charges for any excess baggage (Limit: 9 kg per person) during the trek.
  • Additional night accommodation in Kathmandu due to early arrival, late departure, or an early return from the trek.
  • Personal expenses (shopping, snacks, boiled bottled water, hot beverages like tea or coffee, cold drinks, hot showers, alcohol, Wi-Fi, telephone calls, battery recharge fees, extra porters, etc).
